Publicity and Promotion: Janet Vogel reported that she had sent press releases to many of the print outlets. We should be seeing or hearing from them soon. Helen Marie Fotovich reported she had several radio stations committed to PSAs for the Chautauqua

Finance/Fundraising: Eighty-three “ask” letters will be going out to various businesses along Leavenworth Road . Trish Schurkamp will follow up with visits. Trish is working on an “incentive” package for businesses/organizations who donate. Trish will follow up with Wal-Mart in Bonner Springs and State Ave , Price Chopper in Bonner Springs, Great Wolf Lodge, Hilton Garden Inn, Turner Construction and Brotherhood Bank. Carolyn Walden stated she would ask the Wyandotte County Historical Society for a $500 donation at their next meeting

Concession: Connie Steele and Wendy Scheidt stated that several groups/organizations are interested in having a concession stand at the Chautauqua. Connie and Wendy have also put together a concession confirmation form to be used with each concessionaire.

Fred Kamler, Strawberry Hill Museum , asked about the pre-event and what that meant. Trish stated that Helen Marie Fotovich and Erica Gardner were working on it. The pre-event would be a “sampling” of the Chautauqua. As soon as a date is set, Deborah Pomeroy with the Kansas Humanities Council will contact Dr. Worley, a re-enactor. He will perform at the pre-event. The pre-event is a way for the committee to say thank you to our donors and our volunteers. As Helen Marie and Erica continue work on the project, they will update us.

Trish stated that we would need to have all of our information into Deborah by April 15 for the tabloid and the poster. That means we need to have our major donors in place, our workshops committed, who the local entertainment will be and what nights they will be performing, and concession information. All committees need to have all of their information ready by the next meeting. Trish stated that she will ask Deborah to be at the next meeting to assure that we have all of the information we need

Trish thanked each of the committee members for all of their hard work on this project

The next meeting is Wednesday, April 9, at 5 p.m. at the Kansas City Kansas Public Library – West Wyandotte Branch.

The meeting concluded at 5:45 p.m.
