The meeting was called to order at 5:15 p.m.

Committee Reports:

Tent Setup and Takedown: Gordon stated that he has talked to a lot of organizations. He also said that the Unified Government would send out men for back up to help raise the tent. Trish Schurkamp stated that she was told by Unified Government’s Human Relations Department that we could put flyers in with paychecks re: Chautauqua when it is closer to time

Local Entertainment: Sarah Bohndorf stated she has Friday, Saturday and Sunday confirmed. She is still working on Monday and Tuesday

Workshops: Jennifer Tarwater reported that she and Kim have been working on the workshops and are ready to re-submit the itinerary to Deborah Pomeroy

Publicity and Promotion: Helen Marie Fotovich reported she had several radio stations committed to PSA for the Chautauqua but was waiting for the information

Finance/Fundraising: Trish announced that she had just received word that the Junior League of Wyandotte and Johnson Counties in Kansas, Inc. had accepted out grant proposal of $1000. Carolyn Walden from the Wyandotte County Historical Society and Museum presented the committee with a $500 cash donation. Trish also announced that she had received a check for $50 from the New Century Club in Bonner Springs. Shari Wilson suggested that we contact George Breidenthal for a donation. Trish will send a copy of a request letter for Shari to review and sign along with her signature

Concession: Connie Steele and Wendy Scheidt stated they had several groups lined up for Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday nights. They are still organizing and will have everything ready by the April 15 deadline

Pre-Event: Helen Marie Fotovich will be getting together with Erica Gardner. The event is planned for June 14, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. , at the Wyandotte County Historical Museum in Bonner Springs. The event will be open to contributors and sponsors and organizers. Invitations will be sent out. Dr. Bill Worley will be our guest portrayer

In-Kind: Kay Shevling stated that she was working on the in-kind receipts and that she needed to have those all turned in to her. She stated that committee people could either mail them to her or give them to her at the meetings

 Deborah Pomeroy spoke to the committee on the various activities that are taking place around Chautauqua. She also encouraged many of the members to keep up the good work. She told us that information for the posters and the tabloids are due April 15. If deadlines are not kept then we will receive our information very late in May. Tee-Shirts were discussed. Any tee-shirt design would need to be approved by Deborah first. Deborah reminded Sarah that any local entertainment would want to be at the tent by 6:15 each night in order to do a mike check.

 Wendy stated that the Tiblow Transit will have shuttle busses available on Friday and Saturday nights. Trish will check with Bob Roddy and see if the UG will be able to have a small shuttle bus available the other nights.

 Trish thanked each of the committee members for all of their hard work on this project

The next meeting is Wednesday, April 23, at 5 p.m. at the Wyandotte County Historical Museum .
