Committee Report
September 25, 2003

The meeting was called to order at 5:45 p.m.

Present:
Trish Schurkamp
Helen Marie Fotovich

Committee Reports:
Lewis and Clark Academy:
The Academy is planned for November 14-16, 2003. Loren reminded the committee that November 15 is not just for educators and scholars, but for the membership and general public as well.

Lewis and Clark Cabaret:
Loren said the dates for the Lewis and Clark Cabaret has been changed to March 19, 2004. He is hoping to have at least 15 tables sold to individual groups. The committee will assist in spreading the word about the event. The Cabaret is not just a night of music, but has a large educational component as well, making it a nice fit for this committee.

Mission Statement:
A mission statement for this committee was adopted. It reads as follows: "As a committee of the Wyandotte County Lewis and Clark Taskforce, the Community Education Committee obtains, supports and promotes Lewis and Clark programs and events in Wyandotte County."

Next Meeting:
The next meeting is Thursday, October 16 at 5:30 p.m. at the Wyandotte County Historical Museum.
