St. Charles Expedition arriving at Kaw Point

The Wyandotte County Lewis & Clark Task force was formed in 2001 by the Convention and Visitors Bureau of Kansas City, Kansas/Wyandotte County. The Task Force was a public/private partnership charged with coordinating, creating, and implementing projects and events related to the bicentennial anniversary of the Lewis and Clark Expedition's arrival and encampment in Wyandotte County, Kansas. Volunteers are welcome to serve on task force committees.

In the summer of 2006, the Task Force incorporated as the Friends of Kaw Point, Inc. to continue improvements to the park and plan for events.
